Witch Hat Atelier Episode 7 begins with Olruggio and Agott riding side-by-side in pursuit of Dagda, the man who asked for the witches’ assistance. The story then flashes back briefly to the beginning of the mission.
Qifrey is hesitant but Agott is insistent on joining the assignment. He wonders if her desire to prove herself is a good enough reason to send her into the field. Olruggio is concerned, but steps in and agrees to take her along, creating a portal for the others to follow.
As the apprentices ready themselves, Qifrey fears that Agott’s need to prove herself at all costs might one day lead her to a serious mistake.
Mission River Rescue
When the party arrives, they find a wagon stuck in the middle of a river. Qifrey quickly cuts down the rushing water with a magical sword, and Olruggio rescues the trapped passengers.
They team up and get the danger under control, to everyone’s satisfaction. Then Qifrey and Olruggio split to check the rest of the river, each taking one apprentice. Coco and Agott are left behind.
New Crisis Emerges
The trouble starts when Custas, Dagda’s adopted son, tries to get some things from the wagon. His acts make the bank of the river come down.
Custas was injured and lost consciousness, while Coco fell into the water. She is unharmed, but her magic tools are soaked and useless.
The crowd is urging Agott to move. Agott almost loses his focus. But Coco’s determination helps her get back in charge.
With Olruggio’s rings, Coco dries her tools. The trick is to do the magic when the viewers can’t see it.
Agott calls up a giant bird of light, to distract the crowd and signal Qifrey for help.
Coco also remembers the spell she picked up from Richeh. The spell cannot lift the heavy rock blocking their escape, but she can turn it into sand and carry Custas to safety.
The Unexpected Risk
Just when the crisis seems to be over, Coco and Agott are suddenly captured by the Knights Moralis.
Easthies, the captain’s deputy, lifts them into the air and examines them, accusing them of being in league with the Brimmed Caps.
The situation becomes even worse when everyone sees the area around the destroyed rock has disintegrated entirely into sand. Coco nor Agott can explain what happened.
Easthies realizes Coco cast the spell and prepares to erase her memories.
The episode ends with its biggest cliffhanger yet.
