Filing for Love Episode 6 is bringing some serious relationship tension, shocking revelations and a long-awaited confession as emotions finally start to boil over.
The episode opens with I-na taking Ki-jun home after a night of drinking only to discover that he lives with his ex, A-jeong. The next morning, things get awkward when A-jeong sees I-na and purposefully acts overly familiar with Ki-jun in the elevator. Ki-jun has no memory of how he got home and both women go along with it, leaving him completely unaware of the tension.
I-na, meanwhile, asks Ki-jun to look into dismissing Mr. Do for his costly blunders. Ki-jun tries to check in on her emotionally, suggesting she take some time off considering everything she’s dealing with, but I-na brushes it off, insisting personal matters don’t affect her.
New Scandal In The Making
The drama features top model PK, who suddenly leaves a photo shoot to meet his secret lover. Unfortunately he is stalked and photographed with a mystery woman causing a car accident in trying to chase him down.
The scandal quickly spirals, threatening sponsorship deals with big companies such as Haemu. But the company, surprisingly, refuses to cut ties with him.
Ki-jun is suspicious of this decision and begins to investigate. I-na gives him leave to dig deeper but insists he review all of Haemu’s past contracts with models to ensure he is not biased toward anyone.
PK’s scandal disheartens his fans, including Ha-young, who secretly has a devotion for him, and Da-ye.
Ki-jun & I-na Grow Closer
Ki-jun is working overtime on company files and runs into A-jeong who tells him she told I-na the truth about bringing him home that night.
Later, I-na comes to help Ki-jun deal with the mountain of paperwork. While they’re working late, Ki-jun tries to explain his relationship with A-jeong, but I-na quickly ends the conversation, showing she’s not interested in his personal life.
But still, Ki-jun pushes, “Why do you keep pushing me away?” I-na wants to remind him that she has another man in her life and that it’s none of his business. But Ki-jun pushes back, arguing it depends on who she’s involved with.
There is tension between them, but it is clear they are attracted to each other as they work, sharing quiet glances and smiles.
The Reality of the Affair with PK
Ki-jun and I-na discover that PK is connected to the marketing team leader Ji-won, after tracking suspicious activity on a company trip to Osaka.
When confronted, Ji-won admits being involved with PK, but it feels off. “Ji-hye expresses her doubts, saying Ji-won doesn’t seem like PK’s type.
Further investigation reveals the truth. Ji-won was framed.
PK is actually sleeping with Jae-yeol’s wife, Hyun-young, heiress of the powerful Sesan Group. The real relationship was protected by forcing Ji-won to take the blame.
The situation is even more heartbreaking when I-na bumps into Ji-won on the weekend when she is out with her sons. Ji-won admits that her husband works for Sesan and that her family’s future depends on her silence.
I-na is determined to help and promises to protect her.
Hyun-young Causes Mayhem
During the executive presentation, Ki-jun shares his findings but, despite resistance, refuses to disclose Ji-won’s identity.
Hyun-young rushes in, beats up I-na for firing PK and the meeting is interrupted dramatically. The entire office is stunned.
Jae-yeol brashly interrupts the meeting and confronts his wife in private later. He stands up to her for the first time, and tells her to leave the country.
Right now, we see a different side of Jae-yeol, and a glimpse of the pain he has been carrying silently.
Ki-jun: Jealousy takes over
After tending to her wounds, Ki-jun almost finds out why I-na continues to push him away.
Instead the moment is interrupted.
Later, Ki-jun finds I-na, who has decided to take a day off, and becomes visibly jealous when he sees her getting into a car with Sung-yeol. He believes the worst is occurring and follows them to a hotel.
He gets carried away with his imagination until he remembers they are just at an executive retreat.
He makes an awkward excuse for himself, embarrassed, and joins everyone for lunch.
The Confession
The retreat finally allows Ki-jun and I-na some time alone.
Ki-jun sheds all formality and openly admits his feelings on a walk on the beach. He admits to her that he has feelings for her and that his feelings are driving him crazy.
I-na is obviously rattled and flustered, but rather than answer truthfully, she runs.
Later that night, the two attempt to win a plushie from a claw machine. After a few tries, I-na says the game that can’t be won is like their relationship, saying they just won’t work out, even if they try their best.
She says Ki-jun is confused and what he feels is only pity or concern.
But Ki-jun rejects this and remains, eventually winning the plushie.
The Last Moment
Back at the hotel Jae-yeol attempts to comfort I-na but he crosses the line when he forcefully pulls her into a hug despite her resistance.
Ki-jun steps in and pushes Jae-yeol away before things get out of hand.
Then comes the episode’s most powerful moment.
Ki-jun holds up the plushie and tells I-na that things can work with effort.
Her face says it all, the look of shock.
Review of Episode
Episode 6 takes Filing for Love to a much more emotionally charged place.
Ki-jun’s confession seems to be the real deal and long overdue, while I-na’s refusal shows how guarded she still is. If she says his feelings are out of pity, that’s just her emotions talking, not the truth.
The claw machine metaphor is especially fitting, suggesting I-na’s belief that some things are just impossible, no matter how much effort you put in.
Jae-yeol’s character also becomes much more complex here. His sudden protectiveness of I-na and fight with his wife suggest unresolved feelings and buried regrets.
Most strikingly, I-na’s discomfort during Jae-yeol’s forced embrace strongly suggests that anything between them is a thing of the past.
And with Ki-jun making his feelings open to the world, the question is, will I-na ever allow herself to believe in the possibility of love
