Ticket to Heaven Synopsis
Ticket to Heaven is the latest Thai BL to hit our screens, and is loosely based on Best Kittisak’s novel of the same name. The coming-of-age drama is intense and deals with complex themes of young love, faith, religion and homosexuality.
Tanrak, an orphan, is set in 1996, and is resolved to be ordained so he can one day be with his parents in heaven. He is a committed believer and a role model for the other students at his seminary school.
But his faith starts to waver when Father Arnon asks him to help Barth, a rebellious newcomer. Barth is no longer a believer, and his presence at the seminary is only because he was turned away from others after a previous incident. First they collide, but in the end they make a connection that makes Tanrak question his beliefs, his future and his feelings.
